  A native of New Orleans, Laura Martone has been an avidtraveler since childhood. Growing up, she and her mother wouldoften take long road trips to fascinating U.S. landmarks, such asthe Rocky Mountains and Monticello. After graduating fromNorthwestern University in 1998 with a dual degree in English andRadio/TV/Film, Laura continued to explore America with her husband,Daniel. Equally fond of cultural and natural wonders, she has aparticular affinity for the state of Michigan, where she spends hersummers.
  Laura first traveled to the Great Lakes State in 2000 to visither husband’s family, and has experienced a lot of this incrediblydiverse locale ever since. Over the years, she’s searched forPetoskey stones along the shores of Lake Superior, picked wildblueberries in the woods of the Lower Peninsula, toured an activeGM truck plant in the Flint area, and attended the National CherryFestival in Traverse City—and she’s not done yet.
